Snapchat removes the best way that Windows Phone users can demand the app

Snapchat, for those unaware, is a messaging app where the photos, videos and accompanying messages all self-destruct ten seconds after they are opened by the recipient. Currently available for iOS and Android, Windows Phone users have long requested a version of the app for their platform. On Snapchat's support page there used to be a way for Windows Phone users to get their voices heard.

The Snapchat support site at one time, had an option entitled 'Support My Incompatible Device.' Windows Phone users could use that link to slam their shoe on a virtual table and demand a Windows Phone ...

AVG: Facebook’s app for Android has the biggest impact on battery life, data usage, storage use

If you have a smartphone, there is a better than average chance you use Facebook. The company endures as the world’s most popular social network by a wide margin, and the majority of its users access Facebook using mobile.

However, according to a report from the anti-virus software company, AVG, the Facebook app for Android placed a dubious first place on its ranking for overall performance impact.

Perhaps not coincidentally, Instagram, wholly owned by Facebook, is also on AVG’s short list of apps that impacts overall performance of Android devices. Taken together as apps, Facebook ...

The new handset sports a 4.7-inch IPS screen with 720 x 1280 pixels - according to LG, this display is the "best in class." The Spirit ...

What T-Mobile's coverage map should look like at the end of the year

T-Mobile currently covers 265 million Americans with its 4G LTE service. It is no secret that CEO John Legere is looking for the carrier to hit 300 million at the end of the year. Recently, Legere made a presentation during Deutsche Telekom Capital Markets Day. At the event, he showed a pair of slides that explains it all.

The slides show the 4G LTE coverage offered by T-Mobile at the end of 2014, and the expected coverage by the end of this year. What makes this amazing is that in the first quarter of 2013, T-Mobile had absolutely no 4G LTE signals and was using HSPA+ to offer 4G data.

Poll results: The Samsung Galaxy S6 might not be water resistant - would that be a deal breaker for you?

We still don't know for sure if the Galaxy S6 will be water resistant or not. However, all the leaked details that showed up until now suggest that, unlike last year's Galaxy S5 (seen above), Samsung's next flagship smartphone won't be protected against water and splashes. With that in mind, earlier this week we ran a poll asking you if you'd consider the lack of water resistance a deal breaker - assuming you plan to buy a Galaxy S6 when this becomes available.

1382 voters (57.46%) said that they'd want to get a Galaxy S6 anyway, even if the handset won't be water resistant. To them, ...

These are Samsung's best Exynos-powered smartphones thus far

Samsung has been using its own Exynos SoCs inside select smartphone models since 2010, when the company released the very first Galaxy S handset. Since then, Exynos processors became more and more popular, even powering some non-Samsung handsets (made by China's Lenovo and Meizu, for example).

But it seems that it's only now, in 2015, when Exynos processors are becoming truly important, as Samsung will exclusively use the octa-core Exynos 7420 to power its next-generation flagship smartphones: the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, both of which are going to be officially announced tomorrow at ...

How to stop notifications from showing up on your lock screen on Android Lollipop

Please note: this is a tutorial for inexperienced users.

Lollipop is still rare among Android users, but it's slowly gaining ground - not just following updates, but also thanks to manufacturers that are launching devices which run the latest version of Google's OS out of the box.

One of the new and important features that Android 5.0 Lollipop is bringing is lock screen notifications: any Lollipop device can show your notifications directly on the lock screen. While that's great, sometimes you may not want your notifications to show up on the lock screen, so Google obviously lets ...

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua in white springs a leak; still water resistant though

Just yesterday, we showed you a leaked image of the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua. With a name like Aqua, you would figure that this Android mid-ranger would carry IP certification, which it does. While Sony hasn't released the number, we are guessing that it would be around IP68 certification, which would allow the device to be submerged to as deep as 3.2 feet for 30 minutes and walk away unscathed. In other words, the Xperia M4 could do the backfloat in your toilet and still survive. The phone is water resistant even without a flap to cover the USB port.

Right now, Android smartphones can be considered the world's most popular music players (since Android has been the dominant smartphone platform for years). Thus, it is no wonder that there's a myriad of music player apps for Android. We already ...

Earlier this month, we told you that the Swiss purveyor of plastic watches, Swatch, was ready to enter the competitive world of smartwatches. Verizon calls out DISH in recent AWS-3 spectrum auction, claims distortion tactics, files grievance with FCC

When the AWS-3 spectrum auction concluded last month, everyone was astonished at the final tally, nearly $45 billion in all, with AT&T dominating the affair at a little over $18 billion committed. Traditional logic would dictate that Verizon was the second highest bidder for spectrum, but technically, that was not the case.
